PART 2 – APPENDIX ON A MASS-OSCILLATION MODE FOR CONDENSER COOLING WATER CIRCUITS
This handbook aims to describe the basic physical reality of the subject transients, as well as to make available the equations used for the numerical simulation of the time evolution of the main parameters of interest of a user-defined transient. Standard procedures of time-domain numerical integration can then be used to obtain the desired computer-generated simulations. The latter can be a useful tool for engineering forecasts of the expected behavior of industrial circuits, with particular focus on the cooling water circuits of the vapor condensers of large thermoelectric generating units.
The document herein presented is a synthesis of the joint research carried out by a Working Group of the International Association for Hydraulic Research (IAHR) during about 20 years of activity.
