Suspect arrested after leading police on chase through Zion National Park, crashing car

ST. GEORGE, Utah – Authorities have a suspect in custody after they said he led them on a high-speed chase through two Utah counties and a National Park Tuesday.

The Kane County Sheriff’s Office arrested Austin Gomez after federal, state and local agencies got involved with the chase that started at Zion National Park.

Deputies said the pursuit started when a black sedan entered the park just after 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The chase went through Zion National Park and into Springdale.

Officials were able to spike two of the car tires in Virgin but Gomez was able to drive on to La Verkin where he ended up crashing into a deputy’s patrol car.

Deputies said Gomez tried to run but was caught soon after.

He is in custody at the Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility.

Investigators said Gomez is a transient from Tempe, Arizona.

Full House Gets Revived as ‘Fuller House’



You heard it right! The beloved series, Full House as you’ve heard is getting a revival as an all-new spin off series entitled, Fuller House. Netflix has ordered 13 episodes set to premiere in 2016. The best part of the series is that it will star Candace Cameron-Bure reprising her role as, DJ Tanner. Cameron-Bure will star as DJ, a widow with three kids who lives with her sister, Stephanie (played by Jodie Sweetin) and her best friend, the infamous Kimmy Gibbler (played by Andrea Barber) with an all-new show that is almost parallel to the original series.

Flashback in history: Sinking of Greek destroyer Hydra (D97) during WWII, 22 April 1941

HydraHydra was a Greek destroyer of the Dardo class, which served with the Hellenic Navy during the early stages of the Second World War. It was named after the Saronic Gulf island of Hydra, which played an important role in the Greek War of Independence, and was the fourth ship to bear this name.

She was constructed in Sestri Ponente, Italy, by Cantieri Odero, and commissioned by the Hellenic Navy in 1933. After the outbreak of the Greco-Italian War, she participated in the first naval raid against Italian shipping in the Strait of Otranto (14–15 November 1940). During the German invasion of Greece, she was attacked by German bomber aircraft on April 22, 1941 and sunk near the island of Lagousa in the Saronic Gulf, together with her commander, Cmdr. Th. Pezopoulos and 41 members of her crew.
