The family of a Ferguson, Mo. teenager who was killed by a White cop in the summer of 2014 plans to announce a civil rights lawsuit against the city, the Washington Post reports.

Michael Brown Jr.?s parents ? Michael Brown and Lesley McSpadden ? along with their attorneys Ben Crump, Anthony Gray, and Daryl Parks, will make the announcement of a wrongful death suit at a news conference Thursday morning. Brown, who was 18-years-old at the time of the incident, was fatally shot by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson.

A grand jury elected not to indict Wilson in November.

As many of you are aware, or soon to be, another murder occurred at the hands of the police department. This time it happened in Baltimore City…again. Freddie Gray was chased down by the Baltimore City Police Department, arrested, and died days later with a spinal chord injury. How did that happen, you ask? Footage was released of Gray screaming while they dragged him to the Police patty wagon. We can assume he was already assaulted, but somewhere between the arrest and transportation, he magically ended up in the hospital in a coma. I’m no rocket scientist, nor am I a reporter, activist, or mortician, but my bet is riding on the cops fucking shit up…yet again.

Sunrise Memories

The Tales of Daniel the Dutiful

So, this morning I woke up to see the sunrise.  I didn’t bring a phone or a camera with me, I woke up, grabbed a jacket and sat on the picnic bench behind my house while the sun broke the surface of the mountains.  Lot’s of sounds began to occur.  The Roosters began to sing their horrendous songs, and Dominic, my neighbors donkey, sang the song of his people as baby goats stretched their legs and began to jump on one another.   I’m not the most cheerful morning person, mostly because I just went to be a few hours before decent human beings wake up for the day, but I really wanted to just sit and watch the sunrise today.
