A cross-Canada ball hockey fundraising event makes a stop in Montreal on Monday.
Five Hole for Food, which will make 13 stops across Canada this summer, will host a charity ball hockey game at Uniprix Stadium from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday. The event is to raise money for local food banks and will feature Montreal chef Chuck Hughes and Top Chef finalist Danny Smiles.
This year’s 18-day event, which will cover 11,000 kilometres, started in Newfoundland and will end in British Columbia.
There’s no charge to play in the game, but participants and spectators are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food or cash donations. Volunteers from Moisson Montreal — the charity that will benefit from the event — will be on site to collect donations.
