A good article by Jason Koebler at Motherboard pointing out the absurdity of the FBI’s position—and the fact that we don’t need to ruin encryption. It’s quite clear that James Comey has not the slightest understanding of what he’s talking about. It’s always somewhat distressing to see someone in so far over his head that he doesn’t even get that he is.

Comey’s views on encryption have not changed one bit since October, when he very publicly started fighting a war on encryption as a result of Google and Apple announcing that their new mobile operating systems would have encryption enabled by default (making it impossible for the FBI or even the manufacturers to access the information on the phone).
