The body pulled from the Mississippi River in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, has been identified as a boater who went missing along the border with Minnesota more than four months ago.
The LaCrosse Police Department confirmed in a press release that the body of 27-year-old Joshua Xiong, of Onalaska, Wisconsin, was found floating on the river just after 8 a.m. Friday.
According to police, Xiong was reported missing on Nov. 9 after he went fishing alone in his boat at Lock and Dam 7 near Dresbach, Minnesota.
Police told News 8 that it’s too early to determine whether there was any sign of foul play relating to Xiong’s death.
The discovery will give a sense of closure to Xiong’s family, as shown by the following posting on a memorial page on Facebook on Friday.
